Tree Sponsorship Terms

Last updated: November 2, 2026

These terms apply when you sponsor trees on EcoRouter, alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

1. What you are buying

A one-time sponsorship of $3.33 per tree, in US dollars, sold by ChatGPTree, Inc., the company behind EcoRouter. Your payment supports tree restoration through ChatGPTree’s restoration partners, starting with veritree.

Part of your payment covers the cost of trees, and part covers payment fees and our own costs. A sponsorship doesn’t give you ownership of a tree or of any land, and no rights to carbon credits.

2. What each stage means

We show four stages, and each one needs its own record:

  • Sponsored: a confirmed payment or gift is on our ledger.
  • Funded: we recorded money going to a planting partner.
  • Planted: a planting partner confirmed planting.
  • Verified: evidence of planting is on record.

A tree moves to the next stage only when we hold a record for it. Planting follows local seasons, so it can take many months, and verification comes after that.

Your payment doesn’t set aside particular trees. After you pay, your sponsorship waits until we match it with trees a planting partner has confirmed, and we don’t promise when that will be. While it’s waiting, it counts as sponsored only. It isn’t funded, planted or verified.

3. What we don't promise

  • A particular species, place or planting date.
  • That a particular tree will survive. Restoration projects plan for some trees not surviving.
  • That a named project will always be available. If one can't go ahead, we may direct your sponsorship to another tree restoration project.

4. What this isn't

A sponsorship isn’t a carbon offset or a carbon credit, and it doesn’t make you or your organization carbon neutral. ChatGPTree is a for-profit company, so a sponsorship isn’t a charitable or tax-deductible donation. Sponsorships don’t earn Knowledge Contributions or change Community Forest progress.

5. Payment

Stripe processes your payment, and your statement will show CHATGPTREE- ECOROUTER. We count your trees only after Stripe confirms the payment. Any tax that applies is shown at checkout.

6. Refunds

You can ask for a full refund within 30 days of your purchase, using the contact details in our Privacy Policy. If your sponsorship is still waiting to be matched, you can ask for a full refund at any time. Otherwise, after 30 days, we consider refunds case by case. Nothing here limits any rights you have under the law.

Refunded trees are removed from your order and from our totals. The same happens while a payment is disputed. A tree counts only while it is fully paid for, so a partial refund can lower your total by more than the amount suggests.

7. Recognition

Sponsorships are anonymous unless you choose to show a name. If you do, you allow us to show that name and any message publicly in the Community Forest. We review them first and may decline them. Use a company name only if you’re allowed to. You can ask us to remove your name or message at any time.

8. Who can sponsor

You must be at least 18, or have a parent’s or guardian’s permission. If you sponsor for an organization, you confirm you’re authorized to do so.

9. If we stop offering sponsorships

We remain responsible for sponsorships already paid for. We’ll either direct them to tree restoration as these terms describe, or refund them.

10. Changes

If we change these terms, the version you accepted continues to apply to your purchase.
